How to Handle No Screentime Without Losing Your Mind
Do you feel like the only time you get to take a break is giving your kids screentime? Do you ever feel guilty about the amount of screentime you allow? First, mom guilt over just about anything, is normal! Screentime is something many, if not all, parents are dealing with. You know your child and family dynamic best, which means your normal may not be the same as a different parent. Here are some ideas we’ve rounded up to help with navigating screentime, and breaks with screentime.

Designate Tech-Free Zones
Choose areas in your home that are always screen free. These places could be anywhere you choose in your home. Some examples are: dinner table, bathrooms, bedrooms.

Set the Example
If you expect your child to not be using screens, set an example by not using your screens. You can even schedule alternate times in the day when your child can see you not using your screens. Children take cues from the adults around them, keep this in mind when you implement no screens.

Have Substitute Activities (don’t just remove)
Don’t just take away screens without having a back up plan or activity. Not having an activity or plan is more likely to cause tantrums and aggressive behavior.
