Spring Snacks for the Whole Family

Today we’ve rounded up some fun spring snack recipes! We found the perfect recipes for Spring, and added bonus, because these are easy for your child to assist in making. We’ve also found through our own experiences, that our children seem more willing to eat when their food has been disguised as something exciting. So let’s dive into our fun spring snacks!

Flower Pretzel Bites

Ingredients: 

  • White candy melts
  • Waffle pretzels
  • Pastel M&M’s

Directions: 

  • Preheat oven to 250.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Line pretzels onto the baking sheet.
  • Add 1 white melting candy onto each pretzel. 
  • Put baking sheet in the oven for 3 minutes or until candy is slightly melted.
  • Take the baking sheet out of the oven and place M&M’s on each pretzels.

Fruit Pizza Crackers

Ingredients: 

  • Graham crackers
  • Cream cheese
  • Honey 
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Kiwi
  • Raspberries 

Directions: 

  • Mix the honey and cream cheese.
  • Spread an even amount onto each graham cracker.
  • Cut fruit into small pieces. 
  • Add fruit onto the graham crackers.

No Bake Chocolate Coconut Nests

Ingredients: 

  • Shredded coconut
  • Chocolate chips
  • Cadbury mini eggs or jelly beans

Directions: 

  • Preheat the oven to 400. 
  • Spread the shredded coconut onto the baking sheet.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven for 5-10 minutes, until the coconut is a light golden brown color.
  • Place the chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl, and melt in 20-30 second increments, until the chocolate is melted. 
  • Mix the shredded coconut with the melted chocolate together.
  • Scoop 2-3 tablespoons of the mixture onto a piece of parchment and shape into a nest. 
  • Add 2-3 eggs or jelly beans to each nest.

Insect- Themed Snacks

Ingredients: 

  • Apples
  • Raisins
  • Celery sticks
  • Pretzels
  • Cucumbers
  • Peanut butter
  • Cherry tomatoes 

Directions: 

  • Add peanut butter into celery sticks. 
  • Top with a grape for the head.
  • Use pretzels, apples, raisins, cucumber, or cherry tomatoes to create your insect.

Cucumber Bites

Ingredients: 

  • Cucumbers
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Cream cheese
  • Mayonnaise
  • Ranch dressing
  • Fresh dill
  • Garlic salt
  • Italian seasoning
  • Black pepper

Directions: 

  • Peel and slice cucumbers.
  • Remove the center of the cucumber with a small measuring spoon.
  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing until smooth and creamy.
  • Add dill, garlic, and Italian seasoning to the mixture until combined.
  • Add  1 tablespoon of filling into each cucumber. 
  • Slice the tomatoes in half and place on top of each cucumber.
  • Sprinkle with black pepper and serve.

Fruit Flowers

Ingredients: 

  • Mandarin oranges
  • Blueberries
  • Kiwis
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Grapes

Directions: 

  • Peel oranges and kiwi.
  • Lay out oranges around a blueberry center.
  • Add a pretzel stick for a stem.
  • Cut the kiwi slices in half, add each half to either side of the pretzel sticks.
