Summer Boredom Busters for Kids At Home
Many kids can complain of boredom, especially during the summer. Having some quick and easy activities on hand can help from a full out tantrum over lack of something to do. We think some of these summer activities can help keep your little ones busy.

Play Winter
Use blankets and pillows to make a ramp on the stairs, then “sled” down the stairs. Wear socks and “ice skate” across the floor! Use rolled up socks for a “snowball fight”. Instead of a fort, call it an “igloo” and end with some chocolate milk and pretend it is hot chocolate.

Hardware stores sell plexiglass in all different sizes. You child can paint, then spray it off, and paint again and again! This is great for a hot day.

Tie-Dye
Let your little ones pick out the shirt they’d like to tie-dye and grab a kit at a craft store. It is so fun to create different designs and colors. Your child can wear their own creation around.

Drive-in Movie
Grab some cardboard boxes, let your little ones decorate them to look like cars, add some pillows or blankets. Then get some snacks, turn on a movie, and sit back in your own little drive-in movie.

Ice Toys
Freeze some of your child's toys in a block of ice. Then, on a hot day, give your little one some child safe toys and let them work to get all the toys out from the ice.

Toy Scavenger Hunt
Have your kids pick a few animals, cars, or figurines. Then, go into another area or outside, and hide the toys. Give your child clues or just let them loose to search for the toys. Make it harder by doing this at night or in the dark when they have to use a flashlight.

Car Wash
Using water colors, let your child paint their toy cars. Then use cups, squirt bottles, or even a hose to clean the cars.
