World Purple Day

World Purple Day

You may remember that March 26th was World Purple Day, to help bring awareness to Epilepsy. Epilepsy is near and dear to our hearts here at Ayla & Co, and we wanted to give back to some that are facing new or existing challenges with their own Epilepsy journey. With the support of our amazing customers, we were able to donate books to a local children’s hospital. We want to thank each and every customer that made a purchase on March 26, and would like to share how those purchases helped bring smiles to children struggling right now.

We have been able to purchase and donate over 500 new books to the neuro-trauma unit at Primary Children’s Hospital through the World Purple Day purchases. These will be given to children staying at the hospital.

We have also made a substantial donation to the Epilepsy Foundation, all thanks to our customers who purchased on March 26th. This will help support Epilepsy research and first-aid training.

What is Epilepsy? Epilepsy is a neurological condition that affects the nervous system. Epilepsy is also known as a seizure disorder. As many as 65 million people worldwide have Epilepsy, including 3.4 million in the United States, 470,000 are children. 1 in 26 people in the U.S. will develop epilepsy at some point in their life. In March 2020, Ayla & Co founder Nikki Day’s 5-year-old daughter was diagnosed with Epilepsy. Since then they have been doing their best as a family to adjust to this new way of life in handling this diagnosis. Thank you for supporting our small business and thank you for supporting causes that are near and dear to our hearts. We could not do this without you.
